Keep Flu out of School
An initiative funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and directed by the National Association of School Nurses, Families Fighting Flu, and the National Foundation for Infectious Diseases-Childhood Influenza Immunization Coalition. The 5-year project is focused on the prevention of influenza among elementary school students (K-5). Pilot programs will be held in elementary schools within Chicago and Springfield, MO public schools. Educational information and resources about flu prevention, including annual vaccination, is available for teachers, students, and parents/guardians through a variety of communication channels. Collaboration with community partners provides a framework for project sustainability.
